This is probably the Centenary Gift as follows (especially given it is stamped beneath with J & H Furniture and matches the description);
"Centenary Gift – Tasmanian Branch of HACOBU made a presentation to the College/University on the occasion of its Centenary as a means of commemorating the close ties the College has had with Tasmania through the students attending and the graduates who have subsequently found employment and settled in Tasmania. The Centenary gift was a visitor’s chair for use in the Chief Executive Officer’s suite. J & H Furniture at Ulverstone was commissioned to manufacture one chair to a Regal Carver design out of huon pine (honey yellow colour) with an upholstered seat and back in a maroon fabric (close to College colours). The huon pine chair was presented by Jim Cox (President of Tasmania Branch) to Graham Swain (Deputy Vice Chancellor and Chief Executive Officer) on 23rd May, 1991. The presentation was made at the Annual General Meeting of the Agricultural Technologists of Australasia who were meeting at Hawkesbury as part of the Centenary celebrations. Also, Colin Fleming (Tasmania Branch Treasurer) arranged for a young huon pine tree to go with the chair, and to be planted in the College grounds."

There appears to be no record of the planting of the tree, in any case it likely wouldn't not have survived the high local temperatures and dry conditions.CreatorAO-1 Hawkesbury Agricultural College (HAC)CategoryMuseum ObjectsFormatObjectsTaxonomyArchives | Museum ArtefactsExhibitionMuseum ArtefactsArchive TypeUniversity ArchiveContributorArchives
