The following was mentioned in The Land newspaper in its edition of 6 June 1919: Following the transfer of Mr. G. C. Sparks, assistant-inspector of agriculture to the Riverina district, Mr. W. D. Kerle has been appointed inspector for the Upper North Coast, with headquarters at Grafton. Mr. Kerle graduated at the Hawkesbury Agricultural College,and for some time later was engaged in farming pursuits.
