Fourth CMVS Camp The annual camp of the 4th Cavalry Mobile Veterinary Section, the head quarters of which are located at the College, took place from August 13 to 20, at the Showground, Camden, under the command of Capt. W J B Murphy. In the same camp were the 2nd CMVS (Major Lucas) and the 2nd MVS (Captain Whitehouse), both of which are drawn from under-graduates of the Veterinary School, Sydney University. The College unit lost nothing by comparison with the University section either in work or physique; a visiting staff officer, in fact, remarked on the outstanding physique of the Unit as a whole.
The personnel carried out their tasks efficiently and enthusiastically. The syllabus of camp training covered a very wide field, including a tactical exercise extending over a period of two days and necessitating a ride of over 70 miles in that time. From this and other work carried out during camp, much of value was learnt and when the last day of camp arrived, one felt that in no way had the time spent there been wasted.
