Record NumberP2537Date rangeBetween 1st January 1900 and 31st December 1909NotesHand-tinted lantern slide. Students near swamp, main administration block in background. Lantern slide box 93-11.
Difficult to ascertain location precisely as image is scanned in reverse - note the eastern and western tower positions. The eastern tower roof has a truncated apex, yet appears to the west in the scanned image. This means the photo was taken northeast of the main buildings looking southwest, probably from the western end of 'Glebe Swamp' (since drained). The height of the planted trees (in the Shrubbery & Fairy Circle planted 1903-1906) and hedges suggest this photo may have been taken a decade later than is here recorded (1910-1919). These towers and associated buildings weren't completed until 1906. It appears that two of the individuals depicted may be siblings ?CampusRichmond (Hawkesbury)FormatPhotographic - Lantern SlidesAspectLandscapeTownRichmondPostcodeRichmondStateNSWCountryAustraliaGeospatial dataTaxonomyArchives | Images | PhotographsArchive typeState ArchiveContributorArchives
