MR. WALTER LEWIS.
Mr. Walter Lewis, who died at his residence, in Wigram-road, Glebe Point, and whose funeral took place yesterday, was one of Sydney's most expert gardeners and photographers. He was also one of the first men to be selected for Judging in any branch of horticultural or floral work. For years Mr. Lewis Judged Farmer's flower shows, and at every big exhibition held under the auspices of the Horticultural Society of New South Wales. His chief interest in photographic work was in the making of lantern slides, many of which were made for the University.
The chief mourner was Mr. Len Lewis (son). Among others present at the funeral were Messrs. W. F. Oliver, E. Tate, and Gordon Grant, representing the Botanic Gardens; and Messrs. C. W. Heyde, William Grant, W. F. Derwick, F. Hollowoy, R. Milson, G. and S. Nicholls, O. Kendall, and Frank Hetheringham."
